About my New WIP

Over the past couple of weeks, I've posted about some major writing things I forgot to blog about this year (namely, finishing my children's series, and the fate of my completed YA manuscript). Today, I'm going to blog about what comes next: more writing!

Basically, I'm about 10,000 words into drafting a new manuscript. It doesn't really have a title, as of yet. I wanted to call it Split, but there's that new movie with the same name, so that's not going to work. Let's just call it WIP for now.

WIP is another YA manuscript, which will make it my second foray into this wonderful age category. It's sci-fi, set in a future where brain transplants are possible. The main character is sixteen-year-old Myra, who, after years of unsuccessful chemotherapy, has to undergo a brain transplant in order to get rid of her tumors. All of her old memories have been uploaded into her new brain ... but unfortunately, the brain itself wasn't prepared properly. The brain's previous owner, Lacey, is coming back to life inside Myra's head, and she's not going to let herself die again.

There's also a lot of gadgets, futuristic spy stuff, an epic heist, explosions, and ... romance. I can't believe I'm actually bringing myself to write some romance into this, but the story just cried out for it. And by crying, I mean literal crying. There's going to be a lot of crying, because I'm evil with a heart of stone *maniacal laughter and flashes of lightning*.

So yeah. That's my new WIP in a nutshell.

And now I'm going to go make some people cry.
