My New Home

Some of you might know that, until recently, I lived in the beautiful rolling hills of the English Cotswolds.

Well, no longer.

I am writing today from the beautiful sunny Lone Star State, otherwise known as Texas. The home of many great things, including Tex-Mex cuisine, the Alamo, mockingbirds, and the Live Music Capital of the World (more commonly known as Austin). And now, it is also home to me.

I'm half Texan, and most of my family lives here. Even when I lived in England, I visited Texas at least once a year. My Super Sporty books are also set here (although the town of Horsecitty is fictional). So in some ways it's a big change, but in other ways I know exactly what to expect.

So what does this mean for my writing, this blog, etc.? Nothing much. I just thought it needed to be mentioned.

It's going to be a great ride!
Tune in later this week, when I'll be doing a run-down of the five best indie kids' books I've read this year. Make sure you don't miss it -- it's going to be awesome! (To really make sure you don't miss it, you could follow this blog by email ... wink wink).

Well, that's it for today. I'm going to go drink some iced tea on the porch now. See y'all next time!

Ellie xx
